About Nikhat (Nikki)
Nikhat Powell’s journey is as inspiring as the ones she curates. An American citizen with deep Indian roots, she has spent over four decades immersing herself in India’s vibrant tapestry. An award-winning filmmaker, passionate storyteller, and yoga enthusiast, Nikhat earned her Master’s in Film and Mass Communication from India’s top institution and and an MFA in Digital Film Production from Los Angeles.
Her life’s work bridges cultures - whether through teaching at a Florida Arts school, crafting films, or singing in a barbershop chorus. Now settled by a serene lake in Mississippi with her husband, Melvin, Nikhat is rediscovering her passion for travel and storytelling. With her warm energy and deep cultural insight, she invites you to see India through her eyes, turning every journey into a story, long after the trip ends.
